A very nice way to find out more about Alkmaar is the Walk of History. Spread through the Langestraat, the largest shopping street in Alkmaar, you will find fifty luminous tiles that tell you more about the city. From founding the city of Alkmaar through the Alkmaars Beleg and the Golden Age until now. Go to the famous kaasmarkt( cheese market) or the canal area and enjoy the beautiful old city. By bike you can go to lovely village Bergen( artist village) or Schoorl( dunes) and the sea.
